Have you every wondered how some people can seemingly defy gravity and float their legs off while balancing on their arms? If that sounds like you, come join us for this myth-busting workshop on arm balances. We'll show you how it's less about the arms... and more about everything else!
WHAT IS THIS WORKSHOP ABOUT?
We begin with this notion that arm balancing is a dynamic state, in which one needs to adapt to find stability. It isn't a fixed state that you often see captured on Instagram. Rather, its a continual movement of feeling our weight through gravity, finding support through our bones and muscles. There is an interplay of experiencing lightness and heaviness (yes you heard that right!) when it comes to finding balance in this dynamic state. In this workshop, the focus will be on a fundamental arm balance called #crow or #bakasana.

Beginners who are looking to learn the ropes of arm balancing, or experienced yoginis who are looking for a deeper appreciation of arm balancing as a dynamic state.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Felicia is someone who doesn't like to check boxes in her practice. Instead of teaching 'poses', she adopts a holistic and embodied approach in her yoga practice and looks instead of cultivating sensorial awareness. Although trained in the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage, she has been more recently influenced by Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen (body-mind centering) and counts embodiment facilitators as her main inspirations. She loves a good flow, but loves moments of pause and release.
